Since becoming a member of the bar in 1995, Mr. Abrams has gathered a truly remarkable array of experiences. Attorney Abrams practices in the areas of business, real estate, bankruptcy and employment law. From 1995-1997 Doug managed staff of 15 in Corporations Division (now known as the Business Services Division) for Indiana Secretary of State, Sue Ann Gilroy. Mr. Abrams started his law practice in 1997 and grew it to 6 attorneys. During that time, Doug operated as De Facto General Counsel to Premiere Credit of North America, LLC. Premiere Credit, as a preeminent student loan collection company, which grew from 3 employees in 1998 to over 300 employees today. His responsibilities included negotiating and consummating the multi million dollar sale of 50% equity of the company in 2003. Thereafter, he continued to provide counsel on contracts with major vendors; implemented contracts and policies in compliance with federal law including the FDCPA and Government Contract Small Business set asides and handled employment and general legal matters on a day to day basis as needed. Mr. Abrams has managed litigation, major arbitration, formed over 75 small businesses, completed numerous business transactions including stock redemptions, asset purchases, employment issues for both employers and employees, successfully litigated over 100 wage and employment law matters in both Federal and State Courts. Mr. Abrams also has expansive knowledge in the real estate industry including title issues, development, mortgages, leases, zoning, management and transactions. He was retained as a consultant for the redevelopment of Speedway, Indiana, home of the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400. His business interests include Level Property Management, LLC and real estate brokering for Wall & Associates, LLC. As a community leader, Doug chairs the Strategic Growth Committee for the Martin Luther King Community Center. Part of these efforts include real estate development in urban areas of Indianapolis including operating a Community Development Corporation. Doug also coaches his Sons little league baseball teams etc. |
