RICHARD T. TRETTIN practices law with the Indianapolis firm of Ittenbach Johnson Trettin & Koeller. Mr. Trettin practices primarily in the areas of transportation and logistics, commercial and business litigation, business entity organization, business transactions, contracts and employment law and disputes. Mr. Trettin enjoys diverse professional experience as a regulatory agency attorney, corporate counsel and as a private practicing attorney. Mr. Trettin has worked as a regulatory attorney and administrative law judge responsible for motor truck and passenger carrier regulation and as corporate counsel and senior management (operations, traffic and marketing) for two (2) interstate common carriers. His private practice includes representation of motor carriers of freight and passengers as well as manufacturers and shippers of goods and property brokers. He frequently represents carrier, shipper and/or broker clients in matters of freight loss and damage claims arising out of shipments of goods in interstate commerce. Mr. Trettin also deals on a frequent basis with the daily concerns and disputes for numerous proprietorship and corporate clients involving employment issues, contracts, regulatory issues, acquisitions and/or sales and organizational matters. Mr. Trettin received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Miami University, Oxford Ohio and his J.D. Degree from Ohio Northern University. Mr. Trettin was admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio in 1970, and has since enjoyed admission to the state bars in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the State of Indiana. Mr. Trettin is admitted to practice in Federal District Courts in Kentucky and Indiana. Mr. Trettin is also a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Indiana Motor Truck Association, the Transportation Lawyers Association and has been privileged to participate in a number of seminars relating to motor carriage and logistics.
